Good Enough Ballistic · Last updated 2 October 2026
Good Enough Ballistic is a ballistics calculator for target shooting. This policy explains what the app and its servers store, who else receives data, how long it is kept and how to delete it. It covers the app on iPhone and Android and the pages on this site.
Good Enough Ballistic is offered only in the United States, on the App Store and on Google Play. This policy is written for people in the United States.
You can sign in with Apple or Google (accounts created with an e-mail address in earlier versions keep working). We then hold:
“Continue without an account” creates a guest identifier: a random user ID from Firebase Authentication with no name, e-mail address or phone number attached. Our server uses it to remember your free trial and your purchase. A guest’s rifles and range cards stay on the phone and are not backed up. Profile → Delete guest data removes them from the phone and removes the guest’s records from our server.
Payments are handled by Apple or Google Play; we never see your card or bank details. To give you the free trial and the purchase you paid for, and to handle refunds, we store:
Where the store offers it, the app asks the App Store (Declared Age Range) or Google Play (Age Signals) whether the store account belongs to an adult. The answer is an age range and, for a minor, whether a parent has approved; the app never asks for or receives a date of birth. The answer is kept on the phone. Only a category (adult, minor, parental permission withdrawn, or unknown) is sent with Assistant requests. We use it to keep the Assistant away from minors and to stop the app when a parent withdraws permission. When Apple tells our server that a parent has withdrawn consent, we store that notice with the account.
Requests to our server carry the country of your App Store or Google Play account (or, when the store does not say, your phone’s region setting), for example “US”, and the app’s version, build and platform. We use them to check that the Assistant and the launch price apply in your country, to ask for an app update when a version is too old, and in server logs. The country is not your location.
No location data (no GPS, no location permission), no contacts, no advertising identifiers, no device fingerprinting, no behavioural or usage analytics and no crash reports.
The Assistant is optional. It is an AI model, Claude, made by Anthropic. It explains the app’s own numbers for target shooting: Explain, Describe conditions, Ask and Help me choose a load. It needs an Apple or Google sign-in, is for adults (18+), and asks for your consent before it sends anything.
What is sent to Anthropic, only when you use an Assistant feature:
We never send your name or e-mail. Anthropic does not train its models on this data and deletes it within 30 days, or keeps it for up to 2 years if it is flagged for a safety review.
What we keep:
We do not store your questions or the answers on our servers. The conversation history (the last 20 turns) stays on your phone, and you can clear it in the Assistant.
Ratings and reports. Under every answer you can rate it or report it. A thumbs-up keeps only the rating. A “Not helpful” rating or a report keeps the reason you pick, your optional comment (with e-mail addresses and phone numbers removed), the answer as it was shown and its cards, the feature and the date, linked to your account. We review reports every week. Ratings and reports are kept 12 months and are deleted with your account.
Withdrawing consent. You can withdraw your consent at any time in Profile → AI & Privacy → Withdraw consent. Nothing is sent to the Assistant again until you agree again. The “Show Assistant features” switch in the same place hides every Assistant button; while it is off, nothing is sent. The full consent text and how answers are made are on About the Assistant.
If a screen fails, it offers “Report a problem”. This opens your mail app with an e-mail to info@bravodevelopers.io that is already filled in with the name of the screen, the first line of the error message (e-mail addresses and ID-like codes masked, at most 200 characters), the app version, the build and the platform (iOS or Android). It holds nothing else: no account, rifle, card, location or device identifiers. You see the e-mail and decide whether to send it yourself. If you send it, we receive what the e-mail contains and your e-mail address, and we use them only to answer you and fix the problem.
Only to run the app: to sign you in; to back up and sync your rifles and range cards; to make PDF exports and share links when you ask; to give you the free trial and the purchase you paid for and to handle refunds; to apply the age rules; to run the Assistant within its limits and review reports; to keep the service secure and prevent abuse (for example one free trial per identity); and to answer you. Your data is not used for advertising or profiling, and it is not used to train any model, by us or by Anthropic.
Data is held in Google Firebase (Authentication and Cloud Firestore), Google Cloud Run and Google Cloud Storage, on Google Cloud infrastructure in the United States. PDF exports you make are written to Cloud Storage and served over expiring signed links. Assistant requests are processed by Anthropic. Some things stay only on your phone: the Assistant conversation history, a guest’s rifles and range cards, your preferences and, if you turn it on, Face ID or fingerprint unlock, which is handled entirely by your phone.
Nothing is sold, rented or traded, and nothing is shared for advertising. Data goes only to the companies that run parts of the app for us, each for the purpose listed:
Each of them provides the same or equal protection of your data as this policy describes, under its agreement with us and its own privacy terms. We also disclose data where the law requires it.
Share links are public by design. When you create a share link for a range card, anyone holding that link can view that card without signing in. Share links expire automatically. Only share them with people you intend to see the data.
| Data | How long | When you delete your account |
|---|---|---|
| Account (e-mail, name, user ID), rifle backup, range cards, PDF exports, share links, preferences | While your account exists | Deleted |
| Rifles you delete | A deletion marker for 90 days, so your other devices remove them too | Deleted |
| Trial and unlock status (entitlement record) | While your account exists | Deleted |
| Purchase ledger | 7 years, for refunds and tax | Kept for 7 years; your account ID is removed from it |
| Trial ledger (a one-way hash of the identity that started an Android free trial) | 24 months from the trial start, to prevent repeat trials | Kept until its 24 months end |
| App Store app transaction record (iPhone) | While an account uses it | Your account ID is removed; the record is deleted when no account is left |
| Assistant consent and a parent’s consent withdrawal | While your account exists (withdrawing consent clears the consent) | Deleted |
| AI usage counters | 13 months | Deleted |
| Service-wide AI totals (no account attached) | 13 months | Never linked to you |
| AI ratings and reports | 12 months | Deleted |
| Rate-limit counters | Expire automatically after their time window | Deleted |
| A deletion step that failed and is retried | Deleted when the retry succeeds (≤ 30 days) | — |
| Assistant requests at Anthropic | Deleted within 30 days (up to 2 years if flagged for a safety review) | Same |
| Server request logs (Google Cloud) | 30 days | Expire on the same schedule |
Routine infrastructure backups may retain copies for a short period before they age out.
In the app: open Profile → Delete account and confirm twice. On iPhone, if you use Sign in with Apple, Apple asks you to confirm, and this also disconnects Sign in with Apple from the app. As a guest, use Profile → Delete guest data.
Without the app: follow the steps on Delete your account to ask by e-mail; we check that the request comes from the account’s e-mail address and answer within 30 days.
Deleting your account removes your profile, rifles and their backup, range cards, PDF exports, share links, your sign-in record, your trial and unlock status, your Assistant consent, usage counters, ratings and reports. Two records are kept, as the table above says: the purchase ledger (7 years, without your account ID) and the trial-ledger hash (24 months from the trial start). Signing out alone does not delete anything on our server. Your Full Unlock stays with your Apple ID or Google account; use Restore purchases after signing in again.
Traffic between the app and our servers uses HTTPS. Access is enforced per user by Firebase Authentication together with Firestore security rules, so one account cannot read another account’s data. The records only our server uses (purchases, ledgers, AI usage and reports) cannot be read by any app. If your phone supports Face ID, Touch ID or a fingerprint, you can also require biometric unlock, which is handled entirely on your phone.
This app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. The Assistant is for adults (18+): it is hidden when the store reports a minor, and it asks you to confirm you are 18 or older before first use. If a parent or guardian withdraws permission for the app through the store, the calculator, the Assistant and purchases stop, and signing out and deleting the account remain available. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
You can see and correct your information in the app, export your range cards as PDFs, withdraw your Assistant consent and delete your account at any time using the steps above. Depending on the state you live in, you may also have the right to know what we hold, to get a copy, to have it corrected or deleted, and to appeal our answer. We do not sell personal information, share it for targeted advertising or use it for profiling. Contact us and we will respond.
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, notify you in the app.
For any privacy question, a deletion request, or to use any of the rights above, e-mail info@bravodevelopers.io. It is the same address “Report a problem” writes to.
